There is no clear answer why Streak 5 tablet has been discontinued. For sure the sales of Dell Streak 5 is considered less successful. Therefore, Dell chose to "kill" Streak 5.
The Streak 5 has some drawbacks. One of them, the screen size is only 5-inch. This makes it loss its identity of tablet, since people would love to buy a smartphone rather than a small-size tablet. Initially, the screen size Dell Streak 5 is designed to be in between these two types of such gadgets. But it is precisely the weak point of this Dell products.
Another drawback of the Streak 5 is a platform that uses a lower version of Android. At the initial launch, Streak 5 comes with the Android 1.6; and it brings no hype even though it has been successfully updated to Android Froyo.
Dell will put the Streak 7 to the tablet market, as a replacement of the Dell Streak 5.
